The birth of LRWFI on January of this year solidifies our commitment to the community we operate in.  We aim to teach and create more livelihood programs so families can put more food on the table; to bridge and narrow the gap for students to gain access to better education; to promote health & wellness programs to benefit those afflicted with poor health; and to safeguard our environment and boost its sustainability.

MEDICAL MISSIONS 2012

Silay, Negros Occidental. August 12, 2012. Leisure and Resorts World (LRWC), in cooperation with the Betty Bantug Benitez Foundation (BBB), held a Medical and Dental Outreach for the people of Silay at the Silay Civic Center and Covered Court.

23 Doctors; 6 Dentists; and 68 Medical Volunteers served 484 Medical and 204 Dental Patients during this half day Medical Outreach.

A Feeding Program for the children of Silay was also held simultaneously as part of the day’s activities. A healthy serving of rice porridge were distributed to children aged 2-8 years old. Another highlight of the day was the Cervical Cancer Prevention Forum with a Short Film Showing which was presented by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) – Bacolod.

Patients eagerly waited for their turn to register, be screened and be checked up by our kind-hearted Doctor Volunteers from General Medicine, Pediatrics, OB-Gyne and Dentists. A special lane for the Senior Citizens was in place to ensure that the old townsfolks were given priority.

After patients were checked up, they were led to the pharmacy section where they can get the medicines and vitamins that were prescribed to them. They were assisted by our equally patient and caring Medical and Civic Volunteers who directed the smooth flow of the outreach program.

This medical outreach is a 5-leg mission for the 3rd District of Negros Occidental (Silay, Talisay, Murcia, EB Magalona and Victoria) initiated by LRWC in partnership with the BBB Foundation.
